क्या कहती है रिसर्च-
रिसर्च के मुताबिक, डायबिटीज की बीमारी के होने का एक कारण विटामिन डी की कमी भी हो सकती हैं.
किसने की रिसर्च-
अमेरिका की यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ कैलिफोर्निया सैनडियागो और दक्षिण कोरिया की सोल नेशनल यूनिवर्सिटी ने 903 स्वस्थ लोगों पर ये रिसर्च की.
किन लोगों पर की गई रिसर्च-
903 जिन लोगों को इस रिसर्च में शामिल किया गया इन सभी की औसतन उम्र 74 साल थी और ये लोग 1997-1998 के बीच डायबिटीज के शिकार नहीं थे और न ही इनमें डायबिटीज होने के कोई लक्षण थे.
कैसे की गई रिसर्च-
सभी प्रतिभागियों के स्वास्थ्य की जानकारी 2009 तक रखी गई. इस दौरान इन लोगों के ब्ल ड में विटामीन डी के स्तर और प्लाज्मा ग्लूकोज और ओरल ग्लूकोज टोलरेंस की जांच भी की गई.
रिसर्च के नतीजे-
कुछ समय बीतने के बाद इन लोगों में से डायबिटीज के 47 मामले और डायबिटीज के पहले वाले चरण के 337 मामले मिले, जिनके ब्लूड में शुगर की मात्रा सामान्य से ज्यादा थी लेकिन इतना भी ज्यादा नहीं थी कि उसे टाइप 2 डायबिटीज की कैटेगरी में रखा जाए. शोधकर्ताओं ने पाया कि 25- हाइड्रोक्सीविटामिन डी का रक्त प्लाज्मा में न्यूनतम स्वस्थ स्तर प्रति मिलीलीटर 30 नैनोग्राम है.
